Thank you... for putting the persecuted church on the government's agenda!

We have been greatly encouraged to hear personally from many of you about how your MPs responded when made aware of the reality of persecution faced by Christians around the world. Thank you for showing them that this is a matter of concern to their constituents.

Further action... before the election

You may get the opportunity to meet your local prospective parliamentary candidates over the coming weeks before the General Election either at your front door or at an arranged meeting. Among the questions you raise, please consider asking, "If elected, what would you and your Party do to raise and pursue concerns about religious liberty, particularly on behalf of persecuted Christians around the world?" We'd love to hear how they respond!

...after the election

In May we will have an online facility for you to congratulate your MP upon their appointment as they begin their work in Parliament– it will get our campaigning off on a good note, especially with MPs new to the role!
We will also have a briefing paper available for you to offer them so that they can become aware of the scale and level of persecution experienced by our Christian brothers and sisters worldwide.

Early Day Motion 877

Over 4,000 people took action in the space of six weeks prior to the calling of the General Election, emailing their MP, asking them to add their name and support to Early Day Motion 877. Hundreds more posted letters to their MPs.

Early Day Motion 877 about 'the treatment of Christians and religious liberty' urges this government – and future governments – to raise and pursue concerns about human rights and religious liberty when dealing with foreign governments.

As a result of the efforts of supporters, 315 MPs have signed EDM 877 making it the second most-signed EDM of this parliamentary session. Many other MPs chose to raise this matter with the Foreign & Commonwealth Office and other government departments.

Please note that this campaign has now ended due to the calling of the General Election and the dissolution of Parliament.
