Lyndsey's London Marathon - Now I am starting my training, which I love and I find that while running I can pray and worship God. It wasn’t easy to accept this challenge, I mean I do run but I had never run more than 6 miles in my life! I currently train 4 times a week with the aim of maintaining my fitness and I plan to really start increasing my distance after Christmas. 

I’ve just got back from the Great Wall! Trekking on the Great Wall was impressive. Especially the parts where there were few tourists and the Wall was less maintained.  One of the days I couldn’t put my camera away as there was great view after great view every corner we turned!

The following verses have stayed with me throughout this fundraising challenge:

“If one part suffers, every part suffers with it…” 1 Corinthians 12:26

“Remember those in prison as if you were their fellow prisoners, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering.”  Hebrews 13:3

It was clear to me that my Christian brothers and sisters were in desperate need of help, and taking on this challenge in aid of Open Doors was something that I could do to help.

Lyndsey's London Marathon - I know what you’re thinking 26.2 miles I must be crazy and part of me would agree with you! But my doubts about running the London Marathon changed when God showed me who he wanted me to run it for. When I read about the amazing work Open Doors does to support persecuted Christians I couldn’t wait to run and raise money to support this charity.

When I found out that there are Christians who face massive life threatening challenges everyday just because they want to worship God, it made my challenge of running 26.2 miles seem like a walk in the park!
