UK RUNS

Many of us want to get fitter and stronger, but how about achieving that whilst also helping to support Christians facing persecution? Whether you are an experienced runner or a complete novice, how about 'running for their lives'?

There are many running events organised up and down the UK. If you would like us to help you locate one near you, please get in touch. In the meantime here are some that Open Doors supporters have recently been training for.

GREAT NEWHAM LONDON RUN 2nd JULY 2017

A huge congratulations goes to our team of eight Open Doors supporters and staff who successfully completed the Great Newham London Run.

They had their very own Olympic moment as they took on this 10k run around Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. The course took in the sights of Lee Valley Velo Park, the London Aquatics Centre and the Copper box Arena before crossing that famous finishing line inside the Olympic stadium that legends Usain Bolt, Jessica Ennis-Hill and Mo Farah crossed in 2012.

They all showed immense perseverance and determination on what was a very hot day. Thank you to everyone who supported and prayed for them.

"TRAINING SEEMS A SMALL THING COMPARED TO WHAT THESE PEOPLE ARE SUFFERING. I WILL BE WEARING A RUNNING SHIRT WHICH SAYS ON THE BACK 'RUN FOR THEIR LIVES'. I PLAN TO REMEMBER THIS WHEN I THINK THAT TRAINING/RUNNING FEELS TOUGH"
