EPIC ADVENTURES

Longing for a challenge that is out of the ordinary? Keen to design your own unique adventure? Look what these Open Doors supporters have been up to...

Land's End to John O 'Groats AND 3 Peaks Run

Travelling from Land 's End to John O 'Groats, the furthest possible distance in the British Isles, is a classic challenge that many dream of. However cycling the 1084 gruelling miles in 10 days was not enough for Sam Banner f he has ALSO run 30 miles up and down the highest peaks in Wales, England and Scotland and completed the 3 Peaks Challenge along the way. This was undoubtedly a tough challenge but he has completed it marvellously, declaring, "it makes the effort all the more worthwhile to know the good that Open Doors will do in war-torn places like Syria and Iraq with the money raised."

EPIC JOURNEY OF FAITH

Open Doors supporter, Stephen Kyle, has completed his incredible 4,800 cycle ride from Bangor, Northern Ireland, to cycle over 4,800 miles... to Turkey!

Stephen Kyle

Huge thanks to Stephen who has done this because he wants to raise money and awareness for persecuted believers around the world. Thank you so much for your prayerful support and to everyone who supported him financially. Not only was this a self-financing trip, but Stephen who has his own business, closed it for six weeks to allow him to undertake this cycle. What a sacrifice for our persecuted family. We do not have the exact amount raised yet but it is somewhere in the region of £12,000 at the moment - he is hoping to reach £15,000.

You can support Stephen in his mammoth journey by visiting his JustGiving page. There, you can find out about his journey and sponsor him. His wife and daughters have flown out to Turkey to join him for a few days ' holiday before he returns home (via a plane this time)

Before he left Stephen said: "The Lord has placed on my heart a love for the persecuted church. Many of them receive help from Open Doors, but this help comes at a financial cost. So I decided to try and raise some much needed funds... I haven't attempted anything approaching this scale before. There'll be many challenges... I'd like prayer for my family who will undoubtedly be anxious whilst I'm away."
