Burma (Myanmar)
On 3 May 2008 Cyclone Nargis hit Burma (Myanmar) causing a huge tidal surge to sweep inland with winds of up to 120mph. More than 22,000 people are feared to have lost their lives and over 40,000 people are still missing. While our hearts go out to the people of Burma, Open Doors does not directly operate within Burma at this time. However we are monitoring the situation closely. We would encourage all our supporters to pray for the people of Burma at this time, particularly Christians facing persecution, and for relief agencies working tirelessly in the region to bring aid to where it is most needed.

North Korea Freedom Protest - update
Open Doors held a protest and prayer vigil on Saturday 26 April 2008 outside the Chinese Embassy in London to challenge China about its practice of forced repatriation of North Korean refugees. Update on protest here. For those unable to attend the protest but who would still like to take a stand, write a letter to the Embassy (template here).
