Christmas Eve church attack wounds 16 people in the Philippines
24 December 2016
A grenade explosion outside of a church in the Philippines has wounded 16 people.
Believers were attending a Christmas Eve service on the southern island of Mindanao in the Philippines, according to Reuters, when the grenade went off - predominantly injuring those who stood outside.
So far, no group has claimed responsibility for the attack, though Islamist militants with links to to the so-called Islamic State have been responsible for terrorist attacks in the Philippines before.
- For victims of the Mindanao attack, that God would protect, comfort and fully heal them
- That believers in the region would be able to worship God this Christmas without fear of attack
- That the government in the Philippines would find the perpetrators and bring them to justice
- For believers around the world to be protected this Christmas, as their gatherings make them particularly vulnerable to extremist attacks.
