Resources for Churches & Small Groups

Unite with persecuted Christians

"If one part suffers, every part suffers with it…" 1 Corinthians 12:26

Introduce the Persecuted Church to your church or small group by showing an Open Doors film or invite an Open Doors speaker to come and share the latest news and testimonies from the frontlines. Click here to read up to date items for prayer or focus on a country of interest using the country profiles.

Engage others with persecuted Christians by sending cards of encouragement or join in our latest advocacy campaign, speaking out for those who are persecuted. Share the Women's Ministry News with your ladies group or use the bi-monthly Prayer CD/Tape in your prayer group.

International Day of Prayer

The International Day of Prayer is a day widely set aside in the church calendar for remembering persecuted Christians in prayer. This year it will be held on Sunday 16 November 2008 and key resources will be made available to equip your church to join in this day. Mark the date in your church diary now!

Partner with Open Doors

Keep your church in touch with the ministry of Open Doors and partner with us through the Church Representative scheme. By becoming a Church Representative you (or a member of your church fellowship) would become the main point of contact and be equipped with the very latest resources.

Support

Open Doors touches the lives of thousands of individuals through numerous projects around the world. Simply by giving the price of a cup of coffee (£2), you could provide a Bible for a persecuted Christian. Just £15 could train a believer to teach others to read and write, enabling them to read the Word of God for themselves and gain vital life skills. Quick guide for a home group session:

Introduce the ministry of Open Doors
Ask people if they've heard of Brother Andrew (God’s Smuggler) and highlight that the ministry continues today as more than 200 million Christians across the world face the risk of persecution. Use the World Watch list to focus on a few of the countries.

Show an Open Doors film
Introduction to the Persecuted Church (DVD) is ideal for those who have not heard about the persecution that Christians can face. Our feature films and shorter documentaries give an even greater insight into the specific needs and challenges of the Persecuted Church. Click here to view the full film catalogue.

Respond in action
Use the Letter-writing Guide to send letters of encouragement to Christians who are facing such persecution.

Join in prayer
Share current prayer needs using the Prayer Diary, Persecuted but not forsaken Handbook of Prayer or Email Prayer Alert. You can sign up to the Email Prayer Alert from the homepage.

Keep informed
Challenge the group to commit to pray for their persecuted brothers and sisters. Encourage them to receive regular information with our Frontline magazine and invite an Open Doors speaker to visit your church or group.

"We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. "
