The wealth of the nation is so great that citizens don't pay tax. Traditional Islamic values dominate religion and culture. Non- Muslim religious groups are watched by the security police, as are Christians who share their faith with Muslims. Some Christian groups have been denied registration by the government, so their meetings are illegal. Private Christian schools cannot give Christian instruction to pupils. Converts wishing to change their religion on their identity card face great difficulties.
