Known as one of the most Western-orientated and free countries of the Middle East, here converts from Islam are still considered Muslims in the eyes of the law and fall under Shariah jurisdiction. Public evangelism is prohibited. Many foreign missionaries have not had their visas renewed, and three families were forced to leave the country. For church leaders life is increasingly difficult and it is now impossible for new denominations to register.

• Uphold the Christian refugees from Iraq who have fled here and pray for those who minister to them.
• Pray for the government, especially those who are Greek Orthodox Christians.
• Pray for Muslim-background believers facing charges of apostasy. Pray too for expatriate Christians working as ‘tentmakers’.
