The country is more and more open to Christianity. There are still some limits on the import and distribution of Christian literature and some small denominations are restricted. Less pastors were arrested and interrogated in 2007 than in 2006. Young men and women who convert to Christianity are still facing family pressure to turn back to Islam. Foreign workers can openly practise their faith, but Muslim converts are often ostracised.

Prayer

• Pray against the spiritual forces which would hinder local Christians from worshipping. Several churches are under spiritual attack.
• Pray for more Bibles to be imported, as demand for them is very high.
• Thank God that the Church is growing and the faith of many Christians is deepening.
