New laws on religion have given the Church here more freedom than it has had for decades. Entire denominations and several house churches have been registered. These improvements are mainly felt in the cities. In the Central Highlands and other tribal areas Christians are still restricted in their activities. There are still Christians in prison and last year at least one believer was killed. Persecution has become more localised and new believers are targeted more often than pastors.

• There is a great need for literacy among Christians. Pray that they would be able to read and understand the Bible.
• Pray that new believers would be equipped to stand firm against persecution.
• Pray for the release of Christians still in prison for their faith.
