You can be the link between your church family and our persecuted family. We have a vision to see every church across the UK & Ireland in relationship with persecuted Christians and standing with them in prayer and support. But this vision will only become a reality through people like you responding to the call to be a Church Representative to make sure that persecuted Christians are not forgotten.

You are...

determined to see your church praying more for persecuted Christians
a people person who enjoys mingling and working in front OR behind the scenes
an active part of your church community
able to spot opportunities to make a difference and make the most of them
willing to persevere and are motivated by a challenge

You may have experience of leading prayer times, communicating to groups or representing a cause.

You will be...

our main point of contact for your church and responsible for finding the best ways to make your church aware of the persecution faced by Christians around the world
drip feeding information and prayer requests throughout the year as well as finding opportunities for a special focus on persecuted Christians
sharing about Open Doors' ministry in a variety of ways, for example:

church services including the International Day of Prayer for persecuted Christians (November)
prayer groups and home groups
one to one conversations
notice board displays and magazine articles
special events or an annual project

establishing a core of prayer support and encouraging people to receive our monthly magazine and prayer diary
inspiring people to add their voice to critical advocacy campaigns and providing opportunities for financial support, when appropriate

We will help you by equipping you with the latest resources for introducing the stories of persecuted Christians and encouraging prayer. We will be on hand by phone and email to offer support, advice and listen to your feedback to help you tailor this role to your skills, interests and experience. We will link you with other local volunteers (via your team leader, when possible) and connect you to your nearest Open Doors Speaker who could make formal presentations to your church.
