In May 2006 the newly-elected president pledged an Islamic 'green revolution'. The same month four of the tiny evangelical Christian minority were imprisoned for three months.

The police beat them to get them to denounce their faith.

Muslim fundamentalists reportedly demanded their execution for the 'crime' of being involved with Christianity. This was a new level of pressure against believers.
