Building a church needs approval from the local community and the Ministry of Religion. The law allows conversion, but these women (photo) were imprisoned and their Sunday School programme was ruled to be an illegal attempt to convert Muslim children.

• Praise God for signs of improvement – in 2006 only one Christian was murdered and none newly imprisoned for their faith
• Christians in strongly Islamic areas did face greater pressure; pray that they would know God's strength
• Pray for forgiving love that will win over enemies, break down intolerance and bring peace.
