More than 380 million Christians experience high levels of persecution and discrimination for their faith according to Open Doors research.  That is 1 in 7.  Open Doors UK & Ireland works as part of the Open Doors global network to connect Christians in the UK and Ireland with our persecuted brothers and sisters, raising awareness of global persecution, mobilising prayer, support and action.

We’re looking for a committed Christian*, with strong communication skills and a heart for the persecuted and local church, to join our Church Engagement team on a maternity cover basis. You will play a key role in connecting with churches and volunteers across the UK and Ireland to strengthen relationships and extend the reach of our ministry.

You’ll be responsible for initiating and developing connections with church leaders, volunteers and individuals, often through outbound phone calls and emails, with the aim of raising awareness of the persecuted church and encouraging greater engagement. You’ll help assess opportunities for deeper partnerships and provide support to church-based and volunteer-led initiatives.

This role also offers the opportunity to represent Open Doors and contribute to a growing network of churches standing with our persecuted family. You will need excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong IT proficiency, a high level of organisation, and a willingness to offer prayer to supporters through all channels of communication.

You will have the opportunity to use your God-given character and talents to contribute to the work of Open Doors and to work with integrity and with purpose. We offer a flexible role with a good work-life balance, huge job satisfaction and employee benefits. You will work with some inspirational people and have the opportunity to develop within your role.

We welcome applications from candidates of different backgrounds, please consider whether you might invest your passions and gifts in strengthening the persecuted Church all over the world.

If you are a Christian* looking to make an impact and seeking a new challenge in 2025, here’s how to apply:

Closing date:     Monday, 2 June 2025, 9am
