You’re helping Zahra

At the beginning of last year, we introduced you to Zahra, who describes her passion to ‘bring Yemeni women and girls to Christ’. With your help, she is continuing her hugely important and dangerous ministry, and seeing God move in wonderful ways.
She was at a funeral where relatives were criticising Jawhara, the widow, for the ring and necklace that she was wearing. Indignant, Zahra came to her defence. “She felt heard, understood and not judged,” Zahra says.
“God broke my chains of fear”
Zahra
It was the beginning of a beautiful friendship – and something even more special for Jawhara. “I started visiting her at her place, helping her around with the house, the kids, mand sharing about my source of joy and peace.” Jawhara soon gave her life to Jesus! “She is still new to faith, but the Holy Spirit will lead her on and I am ready to help her.”
Like other Christians courageously following Jesus in places where the persecution is extreme – including North Korea, Somalia and Eritrea – Zahra is empowered by your support. Last year, she attended a conference run by local Open Doors partners. “Being away from my home country for a short while helped ease the pressure I constantly live with and feel from surveillance and society. It was a nice breather. God used this time to encourage and strengthen me, and He broke my chains of fear.”
