2017 Open Doors Young Adult Trips

During 2017 we would like to offer Young Adults the opportunity to travel with us to strengthen the persecuted church.

We understand that you may have some concerns about your safety and the security situation in the country. We would like to reassure you that our in-country intelligence is excellent and the situation is constantly monitored, with processes in place where risk is assessed and necessary action taken. We will always endeavour to do everything in our power to keep all our travellers safe and sound!

Of the approximately 1.5 million Syrian refugees in Lebanon, at least half are children. As you can imagine, having been exposed to the atrocities of war and displacement trauma, these children are greatly in need of Christ's love and healing. Now more than ever there is a battle for the hearts and minds of this generation, that their dark past and troubling present will not be the defining factor in their future.

Open Doors Partner in Lebanon, LSESD, working together with local partner churches organises childrens' camps throughout the year in response to the grave needs in their community. No matter what the child’s background - whether Muslim or Christian, rich or poor, they try to show them how special they are and how great the love of God is for them.

Through your funding you will be able to provide 3 days of ministry to about 100 Syrian refugee children.

Each day starts with singing Christian songs and choruses, followed by storytelling from the Bible, dancing, crafts and games. A wholesome lunch is served as well as morning and afternoon snacks. The aim of day is showing God's love through the activities while having fun and sharing how Jesus can be their friend and Saviour.

The camp is from 27 - 29 June. From 30 June - 2 July you will spend time in Beirut visiting pertinent sites and learning more about the country.

"This trip has - in a nutshell - given me the opportunity to see the amazing work that Open Doors does by supporting these partners, has renewed my drive for the part I play, and has given me more heart for the refugees that the world can so easily reduce to numbers, not people".
