Open Doors to provide support for family of murdered pastor

Please pray for the family of a Colombian pastor who was murdered when armed men stormed his home last week.

Please pray for the family of a Colombian pastor who was murdered when armed men stormed his home last week.

Pastor Plinio Rafael Salcedo was resting at home with his wife and children on 10 August when the attackers suddenly broke into his house and shot him multiple times. It is thought this attack is a result of an ongoing power dispute between armed groups and guerrillas in the area.

Pastor Salcedo ran one of the Pentecostal churches belonging to the World Missionary Movement and was highly recognised and appreciated by the community. A partner of Open Doors who met with the pastor said he was passionate about the gospel and enjoyed preaching and learning about Christ and His Word.

In response to this terrible situation, Open Doors are sending a specialised care team to provide ongoing support Pastor Salcedo’s widow and family. 

PLEASE PRAY: 

• For God to bring His sustaining comfort and peace to Pastor Salcedo’s wife and children 
• For protection for the Open Doors partners who are preparing to go to the area, as it is in the midst of one of the deepest security crises in the region
• That God would bring His peace to the area and bring an end to the violence and destruction caused by the conflict.
