Asia Bibi, the Christian mother-of-five who has been sentenced to death for blasphemy in Pakistan, is due to have her case heard by the Supreme Court today.

An Open Doors contact said, “Most people think that with the new drive to close old cases there may be a landmark decision in her favour. However, Christians are very concerned in general. Pastors and churches have revealed grave fears and concerns.

“May the Lord bring hope and healing to Asia. If she is freed, we are hoping there will be an opportunity for her to rest and heal from her ordeal. Life will never be the same for her. If however, the date is moved up yet again, she will still be sent back to isolation and uncertainty.”

Please pray for freedom and protection for Asia, and for courage for those hearing her case to overturn her sentence.
