This year, Standing Strong is again coming to a region near you, and we’d love for you to join us as we gather across the UK and Ireland to celebrate what God is doing in some of the most dangerous places in the world to be a Christian.

We will be joined by Sulieman from West Africa and grew up experiencing persecution, including beatings. He joined Open Doors' field work in West Africa in 2001 and has since served in various leadership roles. This has involved travelling both regionally and worldwide to strengthen our persecuted family and speak on their behalf. He is married to Habiba* and has four children.

We will be joined by Manga from Nigeria. Manga survived being knifed when Boko Haram militants attacked his family home in 2012, but his father was tragically killed. “At first, we were shy of these scars,” says Manga, whose brother was also wounded. “But later we came to realise it is a testimony. It is evidence of the existence of God.”
