Most Christians are from the significant numbers of workers from South Asia.

Christian worship is allowed – the Sultan has given land for church building – but evangelism among Muslims is not permitted and those who become Christians from a Muslim background face great difficulties, even though discrimination on grounds of religious affiliation is forbidden.
