Arise Africa projects
Escalating violence against Christians across Nigeria and sub-Saharan Africa is putting the church there at risk. Thanks to you, through the Arise Africa campaign, believers like Ayuba (name changed) are being supported and strengthened.
When Ayuba’s father was brutally killed for his faith, he wanted revenge. But through trauma care supported by Open Doors, Ayuba experienced God’s healing, and it changed his life. “I decided to let go of my anger and have peace,” he said. His story was told as part of the start of the multi-year, global Arise Africa campaign.
Since then, Open Doors has continued to journey with Ayuba and his family in Nigeria, thanks to your continued prayers and support. He’s just one of thousands of persecuted believers receiving help in the region. Local partners initially provided Ayuba – now the family breadwinner – with enough money to cover essentials, but he struggled to find permanent work.
After discussing his options with partners, Ayuba decided to pursue vocational training and learn how to install and maintain solar panels.
At the start of 2024, Ayuba began a three-month training programme on solar panel system construction, installation, repair and sales.
“Since I came here, I’ve learnt a lot,” shared Ayuba when Open Doors partners visited him. “I believe that doing this will help me and my family in the future and allow me to support the church. I want to thank you brothers and sisters for your support to me. I pray that God will bless you and your families.”
