Heartfelt thanks from a secret believer

Following Jesus in Afghanistan is immensely dangerous – as Dina* can testify. She followed in her husband’s footsteps in making the extraordinarily brave decision to become a Christian. Tragically, he was later killed for his faith.

Despite grief and ongoing challenges, Dina’s faith in Jesus continues to grow, particularly as she sees the Holy Spirt moving powerfully in people’s lives.

“After sharing my story, I had the opportunity to engage in conversations with many women about my faith. My hope has grown, and I have gained a deeper sense of connection, realising that all believers are part of the same spiritual family, sharing in one another’s joys, sorrows and spiritual journeys. I have become spiritually stronger, knowing that my brothers and sisters in faith are standing with me.

“We can clearly see God at work. For instance, the number of believers has grown, and many testify that it is the Holy Spirit actively working in the hearts of many people.”

Dina recognises the role you’re prayers and support in strengthening secret believers in Afghanistan – just as you are in other places where believers are forced into the shadows.

“I offer my heartfelt thanks to all the brothers and sisters who stand with us in every circumstance, supporting us through their prayers and partnership,” she says. “I urge all brothers and sisters to continue praying for Afghanistan, for the lives and families of their Afghan brothers and sisters.”
