Greetings from North Korean believers

Living as a Christian in North Korea is not only incredibly dangerous – it can be deeply lonely, too. For these believers, knowing that you are praying for them is a precious gift. Here are their messages to you.

The path of a Christian in North Korea is often, amongst other things, a very lonely one. One’s faith must be kept secret even from family members and neighbours, as the consequences of such knowledge falling into the wrong hands could be disastrous.

And yet, believers are continuing to faithfully serve the underground church in North Korea – powerfully encouraged by your prayers and support. Here are messages from two believers to you…

Messages of faith and thanks

“I cannot thank you enough for understanding our situation and standing with us in our struggle. Because of your deep concern and care, we are encouraged to serve with responsibility every day.

“I express our deepest gratitude for your precious support.”

North Korean believer

“Although a vast amount of work lies ahead of us, we will steadily and calmly carry out the responsibilities entrusted to us and serve the Lord. We will press on without wavering toward the goal of truth. On behalf of my fellow believers, I express our deepest gratitude for your precious support.”

Another believer writes, “I am sending you greetings on behalf of the other believers I know. May God bless you with the presence of Jesus Christ, who is our Emmanuel. Because of your warm helping hands, we can endure, believing that we are surrounded by God’s love and care.

“Even when physical strength reaches its limits, strong faith in God knows no limits.”

North Korean believer

“We thank the Lord, because despite the obstacles we faced, we were able to help other believers in their need. I was reminded once again that even when physical strength reaches its limits, strong faith in God knows no limits. We were all strengthened by the conviction that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us (Philippians 4:13).”

Because of your support, believers in North Korea can know that they are not alone. Thank you for standing with them.

Please pray
  • In thanks and praise for God’s seemingly impossible work in North Korea, sustaining His children and growing His church
  • That the Lord would continue to provide for and protect Christians facing threats, fear and harsh living conditions
  • For believers to remain steadfast in faith despite the opposition they endure. Pray that the Lord Jesus would be their Shepherd and resting place amidst difficulty.
