Serving Persecuted Christians Worldwide - Standing Strong 2020 - Open Doors UK & Ireland

Prayer Without Borders: Secret Believers

Our next Standing Strong Live will be held on Ascension Thursday (13 May) and will focus on prayer for secret believers all over the world.

We will be spending time hearing from the Thy Kingdom Come movement, a global prayer movement that invites Christians around the world to pray for more people to come to know Jesus. You’ll also hear Mojtaba’s story of life as a secret believer in the Middle East, and about his time imprisoned for his faith.

We'd love for you to join us on Thursday 13 May at 8:15pm!

Standing Strong Online 2021

Following on from the success of last year, Standing Strong 2021 will be online again this year, taking place on Saturday 25 September. This year, we will be specifically encouraging supporters to gather together to watch, worship and pray with us in groups – as families, friends, in churches and in small groups. This is a freedom that more than 340 million Christians around the world don’t have. We have all felt the challenge of the limitation of our freedoms in lockdown, and we want to encourage you to remember, in our post-lockdown freedom, the reality for our family facing persecution, and to stand in solidarity with them in heart and mind.

We are also excited to share that, for the first time, we will also be hosting a youth event, on Friday 24 September, which will inspire young people and youth leaders to engage with their persecuted church family in a fresh way. More details to follow soon.

After the challenges of the pandemic, we can't wait for the Standing Strong Live physical gatherings to resume, and we are excited to announce that we have started our plans for 2022. We have secured the Resorts World Arena, NEC, Birmingham on 24 September 2022 and will also be working with local churches across England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland to host a series of other events. We will share further dates and venue details in due course.

All those who booked tickets for 2021 will be contacted on Monday 22 March with further information. If you have purchased tickets for Birmingham, all tickets, whether they are individual, group, children, youth or family tickets, will be transferred to the corresponding event on 24 September 2022. There are no extra fees to pay. Refunds are also available on all tickets.

For all Scotland, Wales and Ireland events, your tickets will be fully refunded to you. For further information please see the FAQs at the bottom of this page.

At Standing Strong Online 2020, we heard inspiring stories of courageous faith from Syria, Nigeria and China. Standing Strong Online is an amazing opportunity to stand with the persecuted church in prayer, and hear first-hand how God is working. Whether you want to watch again, or couldn’t make the event, you can catch up here with all the testimonies, worship and prayer.
