Stop The Violence. Start The Healing.
“What I want to tell my Christian brethren is that they should help us advocate and pray. We are pleading that the international community intervenes. We need you to help us speak to the government. Pray for us to return to our homes.” – a displaced Nigerian Christian
Violence against Christians in sub-Saharan Africa has escalated to alarming levels, yet the world remains silent. And as Pastor Barnabas says, “Nobody is talking about it.” Open Doors World Watch List research states that over 90% of Christians killed for their faith last year were in sub-Saharan Africa. Violence comes in a context of increasing persecution and discrimination. In the past decade, the number of countries recorded by Open Doors as places where Christians experience high levels of persecution has more than doubled from 12 to 26.

Christian leaders across sub-Saharan Africa are calling on the global church to stand with them against violent persecution. They are urging the international community and governments to take immediate action to stop the violence.
Get involved – AWAKEN, UNITE, ENGAGE
As Christians we are called to speak out, urging those in positions of influence to take action. As members of the global church, it’s time for us to awaken, unite and fully engage.
By 2026, we aim to present this petition to key global leaders at the African Union, European Union and United Nations advocating for a UN Commission of Inquiry and influencing policy changes at the national and international levels.
Engage
Stay engaged. Arise Africa is a global, four-year campaign. We can keep you posted on different opportunities to speak out and get involved during the campaign. Sign up for our advocacy email alerts to stay in the loop.
Go a step further
We are looking for Christians to become local representatives of the persecuted church to their MP, speaking up on behalf of those who cannot speak for themselves. How amazing it would be to have an Advocacy Rep in every constituency in UK & Ireland, encouraging every MP to take real action in the corridors of power on behalf of our brothers and sisters who share our faith but not our freedom. If this vision excites you, then we would love to hear from you!
