A suicide attack was averted in the Diffa region of Niger before Boko Haram kidnapped a Christian woman, and then returned her with a letter telling all the Christians living in that area to leave the town within three days or be killed.
Following news of the kidnapping of a Christian woman, we have also learned from Open Doors field sources that an earlier suicide attack was foiled by government security forces on Sunday 2 June. The attacker was targeting the Abundant Life Church in Diffa, and was arrested in front of the church. He and his guide had an explosive belt and other weapons, according to communication from the Ministry of National Defence. Praise God for His miraculous protection over the Christians worshipping at this church!
Thank you for praying for your persecuted family in Niger, and please continue to pray that He will grant further grace to the church in the region as they face new and intensified insecurity.
