Serving Persecuted Christians Worldwide - Standing Strong - Open Doors UK & Ireland
Standing Strong 2023

Come and meet the risk-takers of the persecuted church

You’re invited to gather with Christians across the UK and Ireland to worship and pray with our brothers and sisters who are risking everything for Christ.

Instead of one event this year, Standing Strong will be hosted in-person in regions all over the UK and Ireland. There will be seminars where you will have the opportunity to interact with our speakers and hear their stories, ask them questions and pray with them.

Join us to find out how your prayers and gifts are making a difference and celebrate what God is doing in some of the most dangerous places in the world to be a Christian.

Meet the speakers

Hea Woo* will be speaking at events in May. She became a Christian in China in the 1990s after she fled North Korea – but she was arrested and sent back. She was imprisoned for many years, but did not give up her faith, leading other women in the prison to Jesus. She was eventually released and escaped to South Korea.

“I cried out to God to use me to tell my story to people outside the prison camp, and now I travel and share the love of God to believers all around the world,” she says. “God has changed my life from sorrow to joy.”

Abraham* and his wife Eti* will be speaking at events in June. Abraham grew up in a Muslim family and became a Christian when he was a college student. Despite being disowned by his family and experiencing torture, he has not stopped following Jesus. Eti disciples and mentors marginalised and vulnerable women to help them fulfil their God-given potential. Together, they serve persecuted believers in South East Asia – particularly converts from Islam – and help them to stand strong in their faith.

The events will run from 10am-2pm.

You will have the opportunity to attend two seminars. One will be with our guest speaker, where you can interact with them and hear their stories, ask questions and pray with them. The second seminar topic will provide insights into the trends of persecution.
