India: Believer attacked with a sickle by Hindu extremists

A 50-year-old believer in India has been attacked by a group of Hindu extremists some days ago as he was travelling on his bike. 

A 50-year-old believer in India has been attacked by a group of Hindu extremists some days ago as he was travelling on his bike. 

The group stopped him and threatened him for converting people to Christianity. One of them attacked him with a sickle, and he sustained severe injuries to his head and shoulder as a result.

He is currently receiving treatment in hospital. 

India is currently at number 11 on the Open Doors 2018 World Watch List, which annually ranks the top 50 countries where Christians face the most persecution. Most persecution in India comes from a variety of radical Hindu groups wanting to cleanse their country; they are increasingly enjoying impunity when they harass Muslims or Christians.

•    That the perpetrators of the attack would be found and brought to justice
